Wet

Who knew you could write a story about wet things!

I like this story because it’s such a unique topic. Talking about things getting wet and how they get wet and yet, it’s so well done! The simple lines in the story and the child-like artwork is a really nice combination for reading practice. There’s a part about getting into a pool slowly (over 4 pages) verses quickly (one page) that really brings it to life. One of my favorite parts is when the dog’s water bowl is wet and “so is her tongue and my socks” implying the dog just drank and then drooled all over the socks, I just get a kick out of it. It’s so simple, yet so cute. It would be a great book to build confidence in reading because the pictures give very good clues to what the words are saying.
