By Louise Greig and Ashling Lindsay

If your kids are afraid of the dark, this story is an adorable perspective on where night and day come from.

The language in this book is just wonderful! There are so many verbs that describe sounds, feelings and movement (day slips out, droop and close, spoons stop clinking, etc.). The Night Box is a story about a boy who wakes night up and puts it to sleep. It describes the transition from dusk to night and how night plays with the night animals. The story personifies night and takes the scariness away. The story ends with night going to sleep and day waking up again.
